The Ones Who Wait: Momentary Echoes

The second installment of the Soft Power project took place a year after the original exhibition was installed. This time, I presented the works outdoors – an experiment in resilience, given the delicacy of the balloon material. The balloons “doubled” the bars on the windows of the exhibition space, a former commercial pavilion, creating a fragile yet persistent boundary. Though this border weakened at an accelerated rate, it never fully gave way.
Inside the Potato Library I presented the archived artwork from 2023 to see how the material changed, and whether it can still serve as a barrier. The deflated balloons have something amusing about them, yet the wrinkles and creases also resemble aging skin. Despite its less imposing presence, Soft Power again created a sense of two distinct spaces.
